sometimes... the people that are in the most pain are right in front of us and we don't even know it. the work i do now is beyond seeking for closure - it's not a personal vendetta or actions for revenge. the power of perception and societal attitudes towards violence can bring a community to its knees. i guess it's become tiring to be angry all the time. to lash out on behalf of our mothers, sisters, brothers, friends.... but what then of others? are their violent experiences justified because they are strangers? fear of retribution or retaliation for false perceptions... i wish you could hear all the voices of the silenced. maybe then you won't be so cavalier about your assumptions and conclusions.
