how often

[currently listening to: rufus wainwright - complainte de la butte]

how often is it that we see genuine happiness?
An honest smile, the acknowledgement of joy? bliss?

Right now I am so stuffed full on korean bbq ribs it's not even funny. Earlier today I paid a visit to a very opiate-derivative induced boy up in the north shore and dropped off a bunch of stuff - National Geographic, Scientific American, Adbusters, mystery novels, shit reading and a giant mensa problem solving book. I know I'm probably an uber pervert for reading scientific journals about the sexual positions of bonobo monkeys... irrelevant in life I know - but their social systems are super interesting. I should've included a picture colouring book.

Growing up, I went through a whole bunch of wild phases methinks. I bought into the whole anti-globalization, anti-sweatshop, anti-consumerism, Adbusters movement after being exposed to my anarchist socials studies teacher in summer school. Later on I was fascinated with underground electronica culture... then to mindless rave culture... IDM... then I found Matthew Good <3. Nowadays, I'm a sideline admirer of haute couture. Whatever the case, I doubt I could ever incorporate myself into either extremes of the anti-consumerist movement nor participate in the mindless art of self-adoration in excessively expensive accessories. meh, it's all inspiration. life is about balance.

knowledge, is indeed - power.

Furthermore, does anyone have any problem with Stephane Dion holding dual citizenship for France and Canada as leader of the liberal party? I really don't see how it can be a conflict of interest... The dual citizenship question can be a problem understandably (ie. the sudden influx of refugees from the disaster in Lebanon hit taxpayers deeply)... but in mister Dion's case, does it matter? heck, he never voted once in any french election or hold a french passport. I thought we were a country that celebrates diversity and multiculturalism.

whatever the case, canada has quirky politics.
