xin nian kuai le

I celebrated my grandma's birthday and had the big Chinese New Year dinner tonight at some Chinese restaurant. My grandma is 60 years old than me, which makes her 79 this year. As per usual, we all went out to eat at a restaurant eating up two big tables to accomodate all the relatives. My cousins are all growing up so quickly... I love the two youngest ones - they're so adorable. I've been sitting at the kid's table for so long I haven't actually had a chance to try out any of the symbolic dishes associated with New Year's for a long long time. Oh well, lol. At the end, my grandma treated everyone to longevity buns and I surprised her with a cake. Hooray!

Anyways, Chinese New Year doesn't officially start until Sunday. With that in mind, I want to go to the temple but I know it's going to be crazy packed... especially at night on the first day. I just want to pay my respects and visit the oracle/fortune teller with those fortune sticks. Ah well, I probably won't go right away... I haven't been there for so long.
